This week is Education Week! We will be starting the week with our Education Week Mass at St. Patrick's Fallowfield on Monday, and conclude with our Open House on Friday. The book fair is also occurring this week, and our class will be going on Wednesday morning.
We are also getting very close to EQAO testing time! Our first test will be a language test on May 24th. We will be completing all of the language tests first, and then the math test afterwards. There are 4 language tests and 2 math tests. Each test will be about one block (although students can take longer if they need to), and we will only complete one test per day.
This week, we will be having a math test on Probability on Thursday. This is a fairly easy unit, so students should not find it too difficult. Our next unit of study is Transformational Geometry (flips, slides and turns) and then we will begin reviewing for EQAO.
In language, we are going to be completing many practice tests for EQAO in order to get more used to the timing of the test, and to self assess and practice our reading and writing skills.
In science, we have finished our reports and house designs, and we will have a test on our units in Thursday. Our next units are Flight for grade 6, and Forces Acting on Structures for Grade 5's.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at school any time.
