- understand the difference between linear, square and cubic units.
- find the perimeter of shapes
- convert between units of length, capacity and mass
- find the area of rectangles, parallelograms and triangles
- find the surface area of rectangular prisms and triangular prisms
- find the volume of rectangular prisms and triangular prisms
- when given the area or volume (of any of the above shapes), find the value of a missing dimension (eg. If the area of a rectangle is 24 square cm, and the base is 4cm, what is the height?)
- convert between square meters and square centimeters (1 square meter = 10,000 square cm)
Here are links to all of the blog posts I have done during this unit so that students can study for the test. We will be doing review sheets in class as well. Students can study at home by doing Prodigy (I will force out measurement questions), or by dong any of the activities in the Blendspace units.
